Known by her colleagues and friends as a born producer and the “go to” resource for just about anything you need in NYC, Mimi has forged a burgeoning multimedia consulting career through a combination of practical experience and education. Raised in suburban Connecticut by an artist mother and salesman father, her ability to relate with both the creative and pragmatic has been steeping since she could speak. In her second semester at Bennington College she was asked to manage the annual Spring Sunfest festival. She discovered her calling as an expert organizer. With this gift she pursued a career in special events working for such notable companies as World Cup USA 94 and the 92nd Street Y. Since then, she has continued to help friends organize parties, outings and even a picnic or two.

In 1995, an office mate asked Mimi to help out on a short video that would be used to promote a theatrical puppet production called La Pulcina . Mimi caught the producer bug and has since worked on many small independent pieces with friends and even an interactive game called The Ripper.

After a short stint at Faith Popcorn’s marketing consultancy, Brain Reserve she discovered that branding is not just about a catchy tune and a pretty picture. This expert organizer was finally able to combine her love of art and business as the Studio Manager at Gruber Photographers, Inc. (GPI). During her five years with GPI she was able to establish billing and booking procedures that allowed the business to standardize rates and contracts. With this new financial infrastructure in place, GPI was able to hire more employees, increase sales volume and provide higher production value. GPI then expanded into the growing corporate event and children’s photography markets.She later used these same skills to shore up a small but mighty non-profit called Change for Kids (CFK). Because of Mimi’s influence and skills, CFK now has the legacy of a solid financial tracking system for expenses, donations and investments.

In 2003, Mimi realized that the times had changed faster than you could say, “click.” She found herself at a crossroads, continue in the event business or latch onto the content heavy digital media rage. With her diverse background in art and business to propel her forward, she enrolled in the New School University M.A. in Media Studies and Film program. Since graduation she has used her her combined skills to help re-brand and manage the operations of the socially responsible business consultancy, Management Resources . With a year-long contract as an interactive producer / project manager at as|d labs, inc. , an agency specializing in strategic technology development behind her and a short contract at the Garfield Group in Newton, MA she finds herself poised to take on more challenging interactive work. Her current personal creative projects include a children’s book collection called The Clothespin Family Adventures that she hopes to morph into an animated series and a script writing collaboration with some New School friends.

		My expertise in each of these mediums ranges from basic to absolute expert but I know how to hire the right people to make anything happen. I definitely know my limitations and when to leave tasks in the hands of the experts.
