A night that flows…

Ever have one of those nights in NYC where the plan was to have a quick drink with a friend at 6:30pm and be home by 8:00pm? the next thing you know you have been to 5 bars, 2 bodegas, 1 ATM machine, had 6 drinks and now it’s 4AM and you are crawling home hoping the all night diner is still open for some much needed greasy food. To some people a night like that comes around once in a blue moon. For others, those nights seem to creep up on them a few times a month and then reek havoc on the next day. But the next day, fighting sheer exhaustion to open the bottle of gatorade, a satisfied, blissful, contented smile comes across your face as you remember the adventures from the night before. Should you have gone home earlier? Your practical head says, “yes yes - why did I have that very last beer of the night?” nyctaxi
Your fun spirit says you couldn’t have asked for anything else. These, of course, are the nights you’ll remember when you are 80 and your grandchildren ask if you were cool when you were young. You can then tell tales of seeing bands in the wee hours of the morning, running around in the pouring rain with ten people trying to find just the right spot for that perfect hot toddy, or exactly the right atmosphere, or just a dry place to wait out the rain. You will speak romantically of stolen kisses in doorways on street corners you won’t remember. Schemes and dreams hatched out of creative banter will come back to remind you of how nimble and open your thoughts were…Ok enough with the futuristic nostalgia…Stay out till 4AM…forget that stay out till 6AM grab a blanket, go to the river and watch the sunrise with your night crawling companions.

    My dear friend,

Wise words from a women who knows exactly what it means to live in nyc. To more a.m. moments and the gut to stick them out. Couldn’t have said better.

    Best,
    Melissa
